Martin J. Lee was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York City. He is the youngest of 9 siblings. He lost his father to leukemia at age 5. He lost his mother at age 10 to a Heart attack. From the age 10 to 14 he was severely abused by his caregiver, so he ran away from home at age 14. At 15 he moved to Philadelphia, Pa. To live with a maternal aunt. 9 months later he was shot in his spine by a gang. The bullet is still lodged in his spine. Martin recovered and went on to become an All-City High school basketball player for 2 Philadelphia high schools (Roxborough High, Germantown High). He received a scholarship to The University of Pittsburgh. He later transferred to Lincoln University, Pa. Where he graduated with a degree in English Literature. He became a locomotive Engineer for Conrail Rail Services. He also worked one-on-one with the Court adjudicated delinquent Juveniles. He also became a single father and single-handedly raised his only son and youngest daughter. Always interested in the Arts and Literature since his days as an undergraduate at Lincoln University once he retired from working Martin started writing Novels at age 60 and to date, he has written and published 4 Novels. His Novels address human interest and the human condition at its core no matter how intense the issues. The latest Novel is entitled Annihilate the Sisterhood which is about the violence that afflicts the transgender community worldwide.
